Belize packing list for families

Belize mixes jungle lodges, Maya ruins, rivers, and the reef, often in a single week. That means packing for wet, muddy, and sunny days without overloading the small planes.

Kristina's notes on Belize

  1. I like to split a Belize trip between the jungle and the cayes, with the jungle first. Ending on the beach means everyone heads home rested.
  2. Small planes between regions have tight luggage limits, so pack in soft bags and leave the bulky extras at home.
  3. Cave and river tours often have age or height minimums and can close after heavy rain. Confirm these before you promise the kids, and pack socks for caves where shoes come off.
