London and the Cotswolds packing list for families

London weather can change three times before lunch, and a day that starts on the Tube can end on a muddy Cotswold footpath. This list helps you pack light layers that work for both city sightseeing and countryside wandering.

Kristina's notes on London & the Cotswolds

  1. Many Tube stations have long staircases and no lift, so I bring a carrier for little ones and save the stroller for big park days in Hyde Park or Regent's Park.
  2. Do London first, then pick up a rental car for the Cotswolds. The villages are lovely but spread out, and trains won't get you between them easily.
  3. Book timed tickets for big draws like the Tower of London before you go and leave afternoons loose. Kids under 11 generally ride the Tube free with a paying adult, which makes hopping around easy.
