Malta packing list for families

Malta is small, sunny, and full of fortresses, with clear water and mostly rocky places to swim. Packing for rock beaches and summer heat is what makes it easy with kids.

Kristina's notes on Malta

  1. Malta uses the same three-pin plugs as the UK, not European ones, so double-check your adapters. English is an official language, which makes this an easy first European trip with kids.
  2. Malta's coast is mostly rock, with only a few sandy beaches like Golden Bay and Mellieħa Bay. Water shoes let kids enjoy the rocky swim spots and harbor ladders.
  3. The Blue Lagoon on Comino gets very crowded in summer. I go early on a private or small boat, then spend the afternoon on Gozo, which feels slower and more family-friendly.
