Rajasthan packing list for families
Rajasthan is a palace-and-fort trip with big temperature swings and a modest dress code, so packing takes a little more thought. Here is what I bring for families visiting Jaipur and Udaipur, and when to go.

Kristina's notes on India: Rajasthan
- Winter days in Jaipur and Udaipur are sunny and warm, but mornings and nights can be chilly. I pack a real warm layer for desert evenings and early starts.
- Forts mean ramps, stairs, and uneven stone. A carrier beats a stroller for little ones, and slip-on shoes help since you take them off at temples.
- Start early, rest midday, and go back out for golden hour. Kids handle the palaces much better in two short sessions than one long one.
